System Information

Ever pressed CTRL + ALT + DEL to see a list of programs and wonder what they really were? This site lists over 12,000 different programs that could be running in your background. Also a good source to find out if one of those programs is spyware.

Here's a collection of some of my favorite links around the internet. It's a reference for me, along with to let you know what sites I frequently visit.

Webcomics

Real Life Comics
One of my favorite web-comics that I've been keeping up with for years. Tackles everything from games, to movies, to pretty much anything popular "geek" culture.
PVP Online
This is another strip that takes on popular "geek" culture. Also has entertaining storylines from time to time.
Penny Arcade
The pioneer of webcomics, and byfar probably the most popular. Handles games, movies, and generally anything pop culture, but mostly games.
8 Bit Theater
Using sprites from the original Final Fantasy series, this comic is sometimes vague but can be entertaining.
Secret of Mana Theater
I don't know why, but I guess I enjoy watching this one. It's completely made up of flash animations instead of your normal typical strip type comic.
VG Cats
This is another one of those comics which I don't know why I read it... but it's there. Usually video game commentary and... stuff.
xkcd
To understand this comic, you probably have to be somewhat of a geek to get some of the jokes. Other than that, this is one of my favorite web comics that I enjoy to read. It's so simplistic, yet so funny at the same time!

Technology

Slashdot
Slashdot categorizes, and reports on all things about technology. If you're looking for anything interesting or new in technology, this is the place to go.
Portable Apps
Ever wish you could have all of your applications on hand, even when you're not at home? Well portable apps is your answer! All of the applications available on the site are smaller versions of their more popular relatives. The smaller size of these applications are opitimized for flashdrives, allowing you to use your applications on the go.
System Information
Ever pressed CTRL + ALT + DEL to see a list of programs and wonder what they really were? This site lists over 12,000 different programs that could be running in your background. Also a good source to find out if one of those programs is spyware.
World Wide Web Consortium
The w3 is a group which validates various web languages (CSS and XML for example). There's various tools for validating code on your website, along with tutorials and different elements of those languages. Really useful if you plan on doing any sort of web development.
CSS Zen Garden
A really cool website that demonstrates the pure power of CSS and design.
Digg
Another cool technology news site... except it's not only technology. They also include entertainment, video, and gaming among other categories. It's all user driven and has some pretty cool stories from time to time, so check it out!

Random

Communist Mario
Is Mario really a communist? You decide!
Neave.com Games
This is kind of random, but this is a pretty decent site that has a few flash games. I'll play them from time to time on the go when I'm bored. Tetris, Space Invaders, even that little snake game that's on your phone!
The Daily WTF
This is quite the site. Ever get some kind of random or strange window in some software that made absolutely no sense, but was funny? This site has a ton of things like that and more quirks that happen in software development!
Super Mario War
It's like Super Smash Bros. on the NES, it's pretty cool! It's open source, works with Linux, PC and XBox, and a DS version is in the works. It's not multiplayer yet, but they're working on it.
Demotivation
When you're at your whit's end and don't know what to do, get demotivated!
Squirrel Fishing
Some people like to fish... you know with hooks and worms. On the other hand, some people like another means of fishing... well you'll just have to visit the link to find out!

Other

OC Remix
Overclocked remix is a massive site full of rich Video Game Remixes done by many fans. An excellent place to visit if you want to relive the good old days!
#gamemp3s
What is gamemp3s? It's exactly what it sounds like. Game mp3s! Every few weeks, a new soundtrack is released available for download, so check back here often!
