Ever since I first got on the internet when I was around 15 or 16, website design has always caught my interest. I first created a website devoted to SimCity 3000, which eventially evolved into SimGaming.net, which you'll find out more information below. In the process of doing so, I gained experience with HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, and of course graphics design among other things. As of recently, all of my design projects have conformed to WC3 Standards.

Simgaming.net

Date: 1998-2002
Status: Closed
SimGaming.net started as a small fansite on April 1, of 1998 devoted to the upcoming SimCity 3000. I first started the site as the SimCity 3000 News Center on my parent's earthlink homepage (no longer available). As time passed on I got an offer to have a subdomain on boulderd.com by Adam Steinbaugh so finally moved there to simcity.boulderd.com. I began to get involved with DHTML and making cool fading menus and just playing around with the different things I could do.

Finally, in 2000 I finally bought a domain name and everything shot up from there. I began to experiement with PHP, eventially creating small filetree and knowledge databases. The filetree database would allow me to upload files, and be able to input all of the information webside. The users would be able to look at the filetree and sort the downloads by name, size, type of file, etc. The knowledge database did a simular thing as well, where I could upload articles with author information, or categories. Both databases had an online administration interface as well that would allow me to edit or delete files/articles as I needed making the system much more adaptable and easy to update. Sadly, the databases got wiped in a server move and I never got around to updating them again.

However, I do still have the code available for much of my database designs, which can be found here.

I decided to close the site in early 2002 as I had begun (almost) fulltime work, and my time was much more limited and needed to be allocated to more important things.

RODatazone

RODatazone is actually not a site of my design. The original creator PecoPecoKid, decided he was going to shutdown the site and made an offer to allow someone to take over, so I took it. RODatazone is inspired by the MMORPG, Ragnarok Online. The site contains many of the game mechanics, and formuli allowing for users to calculate different builds or skill-sets. I left the site virtually unchanged, except for a few projects I started to work on.

One of my projects was to convert the current site into a mysql database, listing monsters, all of their stats, dropped items, and store any other needed information needed and allow users to search through the database. You can view, and see a test version of the database here using the username "test" and password "test". Doing so allowed me, or someone else to dynamically update the site without ever having to touch any of the underlying code. This database was a revamp of an older system I had developed, for which you can find the code for here.

SPE is a fraternity at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. The current president asked me to create a new design for their Samford chapter, as the one at the time was a little bit outdated. The site was designed to function well in both Internet Explorer, along with Mozilla Firefox.

Omicron Delta Kappa is an honors society, and I did their website for the Samford University chapter in early 2007.

Mystrova Virtual Assistants

Status: In Progress
The above website is still a work in progress as I was actually using it as an example of Web Development for my senior project. The goal of the website is to act as an in-between for an online virtual assistant and band directors, allowing the band director to give tasks to Mystrova to complete. Some of it's messy right now, and I'm still working to fix all the kinks but hopefully this project will be complete by early Summer.
